Collin Munro Became The First Man To Hit 3 T20I Centuries
The New Zealand youngster Collin Munro on 3rd January became first man to hit 3 T20I centuries. He came up with this record in ongoing T20I series against West Indies. This was the last hope for the Windies to come up with some good performance but Munro was standing as a wall.
He banged 104 runs in just 53 balls and helped New Zealand to set a mountain in front of Windies. Munro along with Martin Guptill (63) helped black caps to put a total of 243 runs which seemed almost unachievable. Both made an opening partnership of 136 runs before Guptill got out. In the innings Collin Munro hit 10 sixes and 2 fours with a strike rate of over 195. On the other hand Guptill hit 2 sixes and 5 fours with a strike rate of 165 around.
As a result Windies suffered the loss by 119, biggest defeat in T20I. West Indies only managed to score 124 that too with the help of Fletcher who scored 42 runs. Tim Southee also showed his class and experience. He took 3 wickets by giving 21 runs and helped Kiwis to win an easily. Collin Munro is the only player to score 3 T20I centuries. This man is continuously writing his name in the good books of cricket. New Zealand is a team which have very fewer resources but still they give their best on the field.
Many records have been made in this series. West Indies will have to go back without having a single match. New Zealand again have registered their name in the 1st position of ICC T20I rankings. As stated earlier Collin Munro became the first man to hit 3 T20I centuries. And last but not the least New Zealand have clinched the biggest win in the history of T20I i.e. by 119. The second highest win by runs is 116 i.e. when England beat Afghanistan.
