Chan Peng Soon Pretty Much Sure For 2018 Commonwealth Games
For 2018 Commonwealth Games Chan Peng Soon has been paired with Goh Liu Ying to play mixed doubles event. Malaysia will come in event with 5 males and 5 females baddies. The team will be led by Lee Chong Wei thus giving them a good chance for winning gold. Chan Peng Soon is pretty much sure of winning gold.
Chan Peng Soon along with his partner Goh Liu Ying will start 2018 by playing in Thailand Masters next week. They have a strong eye on Thailand Masters and winning it will automatically boost up their confidence.
Chan Peng Soon said,” In addition to Chong Wei in the men’s singles, we also have Goh V Shem/Tan Wee Kiong in men’s doubles and Goh Liu Ying and myself in the mixed doubles. Obviously, the 18-year-old Goh Jin Wei is also a dark horse player hoping for breakthrough against Indian shuttlers such as Saina Nehwal, PV Sindhu in Gold Coast.”
The Malaysian team looks very solid and stable and each of them have potential to win gold for their nation. In 2018 Commonwealth Games mixed team event will be the first one and Chan along with Liu Ying is focusing primarily on that.
He also said,” So far, Liu Ying is 80% to 90% recovered and she plays very well in training. I do not think it’s a problem for us to play together after almost six-months apart. My partnership with Liu Ying is still solid as we have been playing together for almost nine years.”
Moreover team includes Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei as women’s double who clinched Gold last time too in Glasgow, Scotland.
