The two matches were the finals of PSL. The rest of the matches were played in UAE. Moreover UAE serves as a home for Pakistan International Matches.

In 2009 Sri Lankan team was attacked by some terrorists. After that no International matches have been played in Pakistan due to the security reasons. The only exceptional case is of Zimbabwe who played once in the Pakistan Soil.

But now Najam Sethi decided to host 8 matches of the league in Pakistan. The two venues will be Karachi and Lahore.

Najam Sethi said to Express Tribune, ” This time we are going to hold 8 matches in Pakistan. Two double headers will take place in Karachi and other two double headers will take place in Lahore.”

This is the new target set by the PSL Chairman Najam Sethi. Moreover he challenges to bring back international matches to Pakistan.

Last year finalists of PSL Quette Gladiators suffered a loss of foreign key players. Many players like Luke Wright, Kevin Peterson, Tymal Mills, Rillee Rossouw refused to take part because the final was going to be held in Pakistan. Therefore security reasons in Pakistan forced the team to inculcalte new players at the 11th hour.

But this time Najam Sethi promised that this will not be allowed. In the contract it will be clearly mentioned that no players can leave the PSL.

“All players featuring in the third edition of the PSL will be obliged to play in Pakistan. It will be the part of their contract that they will be playing here.” said Najam Sethi.

Moreover the foreign players will be provided with a higher payment i.e. up to 50% more. So if a player was getting $10000 for one match, then he will be getting $15000. Mr Najam Sethi said, ” It’s just a sweeten deal for them.”
