The trio Ravindra Jadeja , Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara got promotion and now are placed under Grade A category. Ravindra Jadeja who was in Grade C got a double promotion as he enterded in Grade A according to the news announced by the BCCI.
Along with this there is an increase in the retainer amounts announced by the CoA (Committee of Administrators). Earlier Grade A cricketers were paid 1 crore per year, Grade B were paid 50 lakhs and Grade C were paid 25 lakhs per year. Now for the year 2016-17 the retainer amount for every grade has been doubled. CoA announced that grade A cricketers will be paid 2 crores, Grade B will be paid 1 crore and Grade C will get 50 lakhs per year.
The list includes 32members out of which Grade A, Grade B and Grade C have 7, 9 and 17 members respectively.
The trio of Ravindra Jadeja, Murali Vijay and Pujara joined Virat Kohli, former captain MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane and R Ashwin while in Grade B the new enteries are KL Rahul, Wriddhiman Saha, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuvraj Singh along Rohit Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma, Mohammad Shami, and Umesh Yadav.
The grade C is occupied by 17 players. Out of these 17, Shikhar Dhawan and Ambati Raydu dropped down from Grade B to Grade C this season. The new names who entered in these 17 are Karun Nair, Jayant Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Shardul Thakur, and Kedhar Jhadav.
But the unexpected news from the BCCI was the missing of the most talented player Suresh Raina. He is ruled out from the list this season.
Moreover, BCCI also increased the amount per match for the International Matches. 6 lakh will be paid for ODI, and 3 lakhs for T20 Internationals. Moreover each player will get a earning of 15 lakhs per Test Match (5 days).
The news from the BCCI brought a proud moment for Ravindra Jadeja and Pujara. Earlier in 2015-16 the Ravindra Jadeja was getting 25 lakhs annually (Grade C) but now he made a huge jump from Grade C to Grade A and now will be acquiring 2 crores annually i.e. 8 times the previous amount. Similarly, Pujara in Grade B was paid 50 lakhs annually. But now is promoted to Grade A (2 crores annually) i.e. 4 times the previous amount.
Grade A: Virat Kohli, R Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni, Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay.
Grade B: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuvraj Singh.
Grade C: Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Raydu Amit Mishra, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Karun Nair, Shardul Thakur, Rishabh Pant, Mandeep Singh, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jayant Yadav, Yazuvendra Chahal, Parthiv Patel, Kedar Jhadav, Ashish Nehra, Hardik Pandya.
